On May 24, at the V Congress of the Belarusian Society for Disabled Persons (BelOI), the chairman Vladimir Potapenko pointed to a number of problems related to implementation of the government programs of social welfare of people with disabilities.

According to him, majority of provisions of such programs only look good on paper. “I am not aware of any innovation technologies of social work with disabled people, declared in the Progra, of Social and Economic Development of Belarus for 2006 – 2011, and being a leader of the largest non-governmental organization of persons with disabilities, I also do not feel efficient help and state support for BelOI” – he said.
