Conservation is mandatory

№ 73 (5488) 18.04.12. More than 390 billion roubles will be spent in 2012 in Belarus for restoration of 13 historical monuments. 

18th of April is celebrated as an International Day of Monuments and Sites, which aim is to remind of the need to protect and preserve the world cultural heritage.
 
The State List of historical and cultural values of Belarus includes 5425 monuments of archeologu, architecture, history, town-planning, art, intangible historical and cultural values. UNESCO World Heritage List includes, inter alia, four objects from Belarus: Bialowieza forest, Struve Geodetic Arc, Castle of Mir, and the Palace of Nesvizh.
 
According to Deputy Minister of Culture Victor Kurash, more than 390 billion roubles will be spent in 2012 in Belarus for restoration of 13 historical monuments. “Castles of Belarus” Program designed up till 2012 was elaborated and approved by the Council of Ministers. Financing will be allocated within the state investment program.
